Zusammenfassung:	1526819 Pyroglutamates of polyoxyalkylated alcohols INSTITUTFRANCAISDUPETROLE 19 Dec 1975 [27 Dec 1974] 52146/75 Heading C2C [Also in Division C1] The invention comprises biodegradable surfactant compounds made by oxyalkylating with an alkylene oxide C 10-30 alkane-1,2-diols or C 2-10 polyols of the formula HOCH 2 CH 2 OH or HOCH 2 C(X)(Y)CH 2 OH (where X is H, CH 2 OH or C 1-6 alkyl and Y is H, OH or CH 2 OH) partially esterified by C 10-30 fatty acids or their esterifiable or trans-esterifiable derivatives and reacting the oxyalkylated product with glutamic acid or pyroglutamic acid. The compounds of the invention may be used to disperse oil slicks on seawater and to clean sand contaminated by crude oil.
