Zusammenfassung:	The machine separates components e.g. springs or screws tending to stick together, having a storage hopper for the unsorted components and transporter freeing them from each other and delivering them via an outlet to a discharge mechanism. The diameter of the outlet (6) from the hopper (5), and of the track along which the items are conveyed by the transporter (7, 8) from the hopper to a collecting hopper (10), in one direction at least, is several times greater than the smallest dimension of the component. This allows several components to pass at the same time. The collecting hopper accommodates a large number of separated but unsorted components, and forms the discharge mechanism or is connected to a separate sorting mechanism.
