Systems and Method for Riser Monitoring

A system comprising a running tool 390 configured to place one or more equipment assets during well construction one or more sensors 1006 for measuring one or more properties associated with the equipment asset; and a communication system 1002 within the running tool, the communication system being coupled to the one or more sensors to communicate data indicative of the one or more measured properties to a monitoring system MLMS. A method, comprising engaging, via a running tool, an equipment asset used for well construction is also claimed. The communication maybe via radio frequency identifier, the sensors maybe one or more of temperature, pressure or proximity sensors a load cell, strain gauge, flow meter, optical fiber, visual or motion detector. The sensor readings may be used to record load history. The running tool may be a casing running tool.
