The method involves using two or more ultrasonic transducer pairs on a measurement tube. Each pair forms a measurement path, whereby the radial components of at least two measurement paths differ with respect to the tube axis. The throughput value of a flowing medium is derived from the speed of the medium along at least two measurement paths. The intensity of the turbulence of the medium is determined from the speeds of the medium along the measurement paths, using at least the approximate ratio of the rotary pulse and longitudinal pulse of the medium. The measurement value is corrected using the turbulence intensity value.
