Drive arrangement

The present invention relates to a driving apparatus (1), comprising: a main actuator (3); and at least one PTO power generator (9) actuatable by the main actuator (3) to generate electric energy on a vessel. In particular, in the driving apparatus (1) of the present invention, the PTO power generator is actuatable by the main actuator (3) through a first stage gear box (10) having a gearbox housing (10a). The main actuator (3) is provided with a crankshaft (1). Furthermore, the crankshaft is operated in a method in which rotary motion of the crankshaft (1) is delivered to a gearbox input shaft (5) of the gearbox (10) to operate the PTO power generators (9), and is indirectly connected to the first stage gear box (10) by an elastic coupling (6). In addition, the PTO power generators (9) are concentrically aligned around the gearbox input shaft (5) of the gearbox (10).
