Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a new use of Quillaja extracts for manufacturing a medicinal composition for the prevention and control of bacterial diseases in fish, which is preferably administered orally in combination with food. Other objects of the invention are related to a medicinal composition and a food composition for the prevention and control of bacterial diseases in fish comprising said Quillaja extracts. The present invention discloses a new method for preventing and controlling bacterial diseases in salmonid fish using Quillaja extracts, wherein said method comprises administering to salmonid fish an effective amount of a medicinal composition comprising a Quillaja saponaria extract as active ingredient.
