Zusammenfassung:	A method of surveying a wellbore that contemplates positioning a probe having an inertial measurement unit in a wellbore at the wellbore bottom. The wellbore is surveyed by retrieving the probe from the wellbore bottom and determining the incremental positions of the probe during the retrieval using the inertial measurement unit. The probe retrieval is stopped at a survey endpoint whose true position is known. The survey is corrected using the difference between the survey endpoint probe position determined by the inertial measurement unit and the known true survey endpoint position.
