Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a procedure for producing tall oil from tall oil soft soap produced as a by-product in the cellulose industry. The procedure comprises the steps of acidifying the tall oil soft soap with hydrochloric acid and separating the tall oil thus obtained. Hydrochloric acid replaces the more usual sulphuric acid and is ecologically more acceptable.
