The machine for filling cans with a product mainly of deep-sea fishing contains at least one bunker (1) which is connected to an oscillating drive (2) and under which a circular knife (8) is arranged rotatably. A table (22) having metering bowls (23) attached to the circular circumference is mounted under the circular knife (8). Furthermore, there are arranged in succession in the direction of movement of the cans (44) a device (39) for the movement of cans, for centring these relative to the metering bowls and for pressing the cans onto these bowls and a reversing device (50) for filled cans. The device (39) comprises a worm (40) mounted above the table (22) and a pair of bent guides (41, 46) which, together with the worm (40), form a channel (43) for the displacement of cans. The reversing device is designed in the form of a drum (51) with deflector (53), which, at the outlet end of the worm (40), is attached to the shaft (46) of the latter and which possesses radially arranged grippers (52).
