Specified potentiatas are compounds of the formula: wherein R is -alkyl, optionally substituted by a hydroxy group, a halogen atom or by a phenoxy group itself optionally substituted by one or more alkoxy, amino, alkyl or hydroxy groups or halogen atoms and R1 and R2 are the same or different and is each alkyl or they form: together a C 4-6 spirocycloalkyl ring system. Specified competitor/inhibitor compounds are various sulphonamides, pyrimethamine, trimethoprim, diaveridine and various derivatives of 2, 4-diamino pyrimidine. The compositions may be put up into conventional forms for oral, parenteral and rectal administration.
