Zusammenfassung: | 1332238 Window frames FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 19 Jan 1971 [23 Jan 1970] 2584/71 Heading E1J A window main frame or a sash is made with rounded corners from a thermoplastic material such as a mixture of P.V.C. and chlorinated polyethylene and formed by bonding at an appropriate temeperature and welding together the ends of at least one hollow profile tube 1, or 4, of the material and allowed to cool, the ends being so disposed that the weld is away from the rounded corners. The hollow profile may comprise a single chamber or a plurality of chambers as shown and the main chamber may be provided with a strengthening metal insert 2 or 2'. The insert 2 or 2' is of aluminium, galvanised iron or corrosion resistant steel and at the rounded corners, Fig. 1b, the insert is provided with wedge-shaped slits 12 extending from the inner side of the frame, as shown, and of such dimensions that the sum of the slit widths on the outer side of the insert corresponds to the difference in length between the outer and inner curvature of the insert. The window has an exterior window sill 11a and an interior sill 11b, both, as shown in one plastics piece-sealing strips 3, 3' are provided as shown. Several frames may be combined in any design by the use of supplementary corner pieces (17, Figs. 3 and 4) secured to the frame by welding, bonding, interengagement or pins. |
