Zusammenfassung:	An item of furniture with a height-adjustment device is provided with two components which are connected to one another by the height-adjustment device. The height- adjustment device is provided with clamping members which can be brought into engagement with one of the components, and with a sliding part which is connected to the other component. This sliding part can slide with respect to the first component and can be fixed in place by the clamping members.
