Asparagus harvester

The invention relates to an asparagus harvester comprising an asparagus detection module (2) including a first sand bed height sensor (20) for detecting the location of asparagus in a sand bed, in a coordinate frame of the asparagus detection module (2) that identifies a depth parameter for harvesting the asparagus relative to the sand bed height; a harvesting module (4) for harvesting asparagus from the sand bed, based on the identified location and depth parameter of the asparagus detection module (2); and a sand bed restoration module (7) including a second sand bed height sensor (18), for restoring the sand bed to a set sand bed height, measured after the asparagus has been harvested from the sand bed, based on the identified location and depth parameters of the asparagus detection module (2). A support module (1 1) is provided to stabilize the measured first and second sand bed heights of the first and second sand bed height sensors (20; 18).
