Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a braking system for a towed vehicle and to a towed vehicle comprising the same. According to the invention, the towed vehicle braking system comprises a coupling force determination unit that is mechanically coupled to a first mechanical coupling that couples the towed vehicle and the towing vehicle. The coupling force determination unit is configured to output a coupling signal that is indicative for a towing force that is exerted by the towing vehicle onto the towed vehicle, and vice versa, through the first mechanical coupling. The controller of the braking system is configured for controlling an actuator, which actuates a brake, in dependence of the coupling signal and a received brake signal to reduce the towing force.
