PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving amount detection device of a distribution machine capable of improving a positioning control performance of the distribution machine with an extremely simple control method in a moving control device of the distribution machine constituted so that the distribution machine travels between racks. SOLUTION: First reflector plates S1, S2 are installed at the position sandwiched between a lateral member adjacent to the upper and lower parts or the lateral member adjacent to the upper part and a floor for each upright member 1a of the rack 1, and a plurality of second reflector plates R1, R2, etc. are installed in the longitudinal direction of the lateral member 1b. A fork lift (distribution machine) 2 is provided with a first sensor 3 which emits a light beam on the first reflector plate S1 and detects a reflected wave from the reflector plate and a second sensor 4 which emits each of the second reflector plates R1, R2, etc. and detects the reflected waves from each of reflector plates, and provided with a controller 10 for calculating the position of the fork lift 2 based on combination of the number of counts of the detection signal of the first sensor 3 and the number of counts of the detection signal of the second sensor 4.
