The device (10) is for the introduction of at least one bearer (12.1,12.2) which encloses a packed together thread ball involving a weft thread (1-1'-1'') in a compartment of a loom. The thread ball during the introduction of the bearer in the loom compartment (2) extends from the bearer to an elongated weft thread (1). The introduction device comprises a store of several bearers and at least one launching unit for the one by one introduction of the bearers from a launching position into the loom compartment. The store is composed of at least two bearer holers. The device has transmission arrangements (14a,14b) for the alternating movement of a bearer to a launching position of a launching unit (16).
