Zusammenfassung: | A multilayer material (1) comprises a partially cellular core layer (2) of plastic foam particles (3, 4, 5) bonded together with a plastic matrix (6) onto which a cover layer (11) is attached either directly via the matrix and/or indirectly via a plastic intermediate layer (12). Also claimed is (i) a mfg. process in which the foam particles (3, 4, 5) are mixed with the polymer matrix (6) and pressed to form a block or plate; thermoplastic granules, film and/or paste are then placed either directly onto the block or an intermediate fibrous carrier (13) forming part of the intermediate layer (12), heated together with the cover layer (11) and pressed into the block. After cooling below the thermoplastic softening pt. the multilayer material is demoulded; and (ii) a mfg. plant including a conveying system for the thermoplastic coated carrier (13) having two parallel PTFE covered belts, one above the other and at a distance from each other, a heating unit, a press tool, and a handling system for the core block (2), cover layer (11) and intermediate layer (12). |
