Zusammenfassung:	A washing machine includes a washing machine body, water tub (13) supported in an inside of the washing machine body and having a drain port at a bottom, and heater unit (32) disposed below water tub (13) and communicating with an inner bottom of water tub (13). Further, heater unit (32) includes heater container (37) that houses heater (38) for heating washing water inside, the heater inserted into heater container (37) from opening (37b) of heater container (37) and heating washing water, and temperature detector (56) for detecting a water temperature within heater container (37). Furthermore, a water temperature within water tub (13) is estimated based on the water temperature within heater container (37) detected by temperature detector (56) after a predetermined period of time elapses after the heater is turned OFF.
