PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR A BENCH-SCALE ABSORPTION

The present invention relates generally to a process and system for separating CO? from gas stream and process performance evaluation of potential solvent using a bench-scale absorption system at low and high pressure condition. The process and system of the present invention is provided with at least one bench-scale absorption column (160) packed with packing to allow counter-current flow contacting of gas stream (150) with solvent stream (200). The system is equipped with a pressure control system (220) to ensure that the system can be operated at stable desired operating pressure condition. The bench-scale absorption column (160) separate the contacting stream to form a first stream as treated gas stream (230) and a second stream as used solvent with captured CO? (25). The inlet stream (150), outlet stream (210) and at least six sampling points along the bench-scale absorption column (160) are connected to a gas analyzer (240) for measuring CO? concentration profile.
