Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to electrochemical capacitors (200a, 200b) and a method of growing vertically aligned carbon nanotube (205) on conducting substrate (204a, 204b) for the electrochemical capacitor electrodes (203a, 203b). The electrochemical capacitors comprises an anode and a cathode, a pair of symmetric 10 electrodes (203a, 203b) each having a conducting substrate (204a, 204b), a plurality of carbon nanotubes (205) on the conducting surface, a separator and electrolyte. The carbon nanotubes (205) are directly grown on the surface of the conducting surface for low contact resistance thereby enhancing the performance of the electrochemical capacitor.
