Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to a method for making a vegetable oil emulsion drug delivery system (10). First, a surfactant is added to a lipid phase to form a lipid-surfactant mixture (11) wherein the lipid phase comprises palm olein, which is then heated till complete miscibility is achieved (12), then stirred while cooling to room temperature (13). Next, an aqueous phase is added to the lipid-surfactant mixture with continuous stirring to form an emulsion mixture (14), which is then homogenized (15). A drug is then added to the emulsion mixture with continuous stirring (16). The emulsion mixture with drug is then slowly added to a viscosity modifier while stirring continuously (17). The vegetable oil emulsion drug delivery system produced from this method exhibits viscoelastic and pseudoplastic behaviour with yield value of 0.1-35.2 Pa, domination of storage modulus (G') over loss modulus (G"), and with tan o < 1 in the frequency range of 0.01 to 10 Hz, and is stable at room temperature for a minimum of 3 months. |
