Zusammenfassung:The present invention described a method for producing functional food ingredient from Orthosiphon Stamineus leaves. The method includes the steps of washing fresh collected Orthosiphon Stamineus leaves; drying the washed leaves in an oven; grinding dried leaves to powder form; extracting the bioactive compound of the leaves by using the microwave assisted extraction method; removing isopropanol from the extract by evaporation; analysing bioactive compound in the extract; and minimising the polyphenol degradation in powder form via microencapsulation by spray drying.
