MULTI-ROTARY RUBBER DAMPER

The present invention discloses a device (1) for dissipating mechanical energy of a frame structure (11) which is under a lateral force comprises a base plate (2) for attachment to the frame structure (11), having a pair of vertically extending flanges (3) on one side; a centre plate (4) having one end connected between the pair of flanges (3) by a first pivotal connection (8); a pair of elongate plate members (5) extending perpendicular to the base member (2), one plate member (5) being connected on each side of the other end of the centre plate (4) by a second pivotal connection (9) such that the pair of plate members (5) can execute a seesaw movement about the second pivotal connection (9) and the assembly of the centre plate (4) and the pair of plate members (5) can execute a swinging movement about the first pivotal connection (8); characterised in that a pair of elastic members (6) are disposed between the flanges (3) of the base plate (2), one on each side of the centre plate (4), and a second pair of elastic members (7) are disposed one between each of the pair of elongate members (5) and the centre plate (4).
