Zusammenfassung: | The present invention provides a method for extraction of nanoparticle hematite / ferrite catalyst from industrial waste for use in synthesis of high quality carbon nanotubes (CNTs), the method includes: a) using electric arc furnace (EAF) slags from industrial waste as a source or starting material for the extraction of nanoparticle hematite / ferrite; b) grinding and sieving the EAF slags into predetermined sizes for treating with crystalline ammonium chloride; wherein the extraction is based on dissolution process of nanoparticle hematite / ferrite from the electric arc furnace (EAF) slags through reflux and re-precipitation processes by using potassium hydroxide; and wherein treated nanoparticle hematite / ferrite is used as an unsupported catalyst in the preparation of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) via chemical vapour deposition (CVD) using acetylene as carbon source. |
