THE INTERFACE CIRCUIT COMPRISES A PULSE WIDTH MODULATOR (30) AND A PULSE WIDTH MODULATION TO DC SIGNAL CONVERTER (40). THE PULSE WIDTH MODULATOR (30) IS CONFIGURED TO PRODUCE PULSE WIDTH MODULATION PROPORTIONAL TO THE PHASE DIFFERENCE OF SIGNALS BETWEEN A SENSOR AND A REFERENCE SIGNAL. THE PULSE WIDTH MODULATION IS THEN CONVERTED TO DC SIGNAL, SAID DC SIGNAL HAVING AN AMPLITUDE PROPORTIONAL TO PULSE WIDTH MODULATION. THE OUTPUT PRODUCED IS A DC SIGNAL PROPORTIONAL TO THE PHASE DIFFERENCE OF SIGNALS BETWEEN SENSOR AND REFERENCE SIGNAL.
