Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:THE PRESENT INVENTION PROVIDES AN IGNITION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING IGNITION OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE IN WHICH THE IGNITION IS ACHIEVED BY OPERATING SWITCHING MEANS (SCR) WITH A TRIGGER SIGNAL PROVIDED FROM CONTROL MEANS (CPU) TO DISCHARGE A CAPACITOR (CI) WHICH IS CONNECTED TO A PRIMARY SIDE (5A) OF AN IGNITION COIL (5), CHARACTERIZED IN THAT THE TRIGGER SIGNAL IS GENERATED AS A PLURALITY OF TRIGGER PULSES WHOSE WIDTH (TT) IS SHORTER THAN ONE CYCLE OF DISCHARGE OF THE CAPACITOR (C1), TO THEREBY PRODUCE A PLURALITY OF DISCRETE SPARKS SEPARATED BY REST PERIODS (T1, T2) FOR EACH IGNITION. ACCORDINGLY, WITHOUT INCREASING THE SIZE OF AN IGNITION SYSTEM IT IS POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE DESIRABLE IGNITION CHARACTERISTICS WHICH IS COMPARABLE TO THAT OF A SINGLE, CONTINUOUS SPARK OF A PROLONGED DURATION TIME.
