WHEN INFORMATION IS READ FROM A DISK SURFACE (20), SIGNALS FROM THE INDUCTIVE HEAD (44) AND THE MAGNETO-RESISTIVE HEAD (46) ARE COMBINED TO PROVIDE AN OUTPUT SIGNAL, THEREBY TO OVERCOME DISADVANTAGES OF USING EITHER SIGNAL ALONE.
