The sustained release compositions of this invention comprise a biocompatible polymer having dispersed therein, a biologically active polypeptide and a sugar. La presente invencion describe composiciones para la liberacion sostenida de polipeptidos biologicamente activos, y metodo para formar y usar dichas composiciones, para la liberacion sostenida de polipeptidos biologicamente activos; las composiciones de liberacion sostenida de esta invencion, comprenden un polimero biocompatible que tiene dispersado en este, un polipeptido biologicamente activo y un azucar.
