Zusammenfassung:A process for the sterilization of water insoluble solid medicinal substances is described.The process provides the sterilization of beclomethasone, which is suitable for pulmonary administration. In particular, the process is used in industrial plants for the production of formulations of sterile beclomethasone for inhalation delivery, so as to avoid any modifications in particle size distribution and in the impurities profile of the drug. The process is carried out by heating a mixture of micronized beclomethasone and purified water only, preferably at a temperature of about 120degree C for 20 minutes. The process is particularly efficient and economic for the steam sterilization of beclomethasone dipropionate in formulations for pulmonary delivery. Se describe un proceso para la esterilizacion de sustancias medicinales solidas insolubles en agua. El proceso proporciona la esterilizacion de beclometasona, que es adecuada para administracion pulmonar. En particular, el proceso se usa en plantas industriales para la produccion de formulaciones de beclometasona esteril para distribucion por inhalacion, para evitar cualquier modificacion en la distribucion del tamano de particulas y en el perfil de impurezas del farmaco. El proceso se lleva a cabo al calentar una mezcla de beclometasona micronizada y agua purificada unicamente, de manera preferente a una temperatura de aproximadamente 120degree C durante 20 minutos. El proceso es particularmente eficiente y economico para la esterilizacion con vapor de dipropionato de beclometasona en formulaciones para distribucion pulmonar.
