Zusammenfassung: | The novel iodine derivatives of the prostaglandins of the formula I, which possess a 9-deoxy-6,9-epoxy functionality, in which D, L, Q, X, V, W, R1 and R4 have the same meaning as in Patent Claim 1, are prepared by subjecting a compound of the formula XIII to an iodination and cyclisation. By reacting with a dehydroiodinating reagent, the halogen atom which is bound to the carbon atom of the cyclic structure, together with the iodine atom which is bound to the adjacent carbon atom, can be eliminated from the iodine compounds of the formula I, with the corresponding compounds possessing a double bond in the trans position being obtained. If, on the other hand, the compounds of the formula I are subjected to a dehalogenation and hydrolysis, the hemiketal of the formula III is then obtained, mixed with the corresponding open-chain keto compound. The novel prostaglandin derivatives can be used for preventing blood platelet agglutination, for stimulating the smooth musculature, as agents for lowering blood pressure, or as agents for preventing too strong a secretion of gastric juice. |
