The invention is supplied in specific amounts into the food, also being applied in direct dilution into the aquatic medium, habitat of the population. La presente invención se refiere a una composición que comprende pentaborato de sodio pentahidratado para usarse en la elaboración de un medicamento para la prevención, control y/o tratamiento del síndrome de la mancha blanca en camarón donde el pentaborato está en una cantidad terapéuticamente efectiva de 1 a 5 mg, en donde la composición esta adaptada para ser administrada de forma oral en una o más dosis unitarias durante un período de administración de 1 a 7 días.
