USE OF SODIUM CASEINATE AS ANTINEOPLASTIC AGENT

The present invention refers to the use of sodium caseinate as an oncologic agent; which in vitro may block the proliferation, the metabolic activity and induce apoptosis in leukemia cells, but not in the normal hematopoiesis. In addition, the invention refers to the use of sodium caseinate in vivo, where this may extend the survival in leukemia individual, reducing the manifestations of the disease, is a non-toxic agent for the hematopoietic tissue and promotes the generation of healthy blood cells. La presente invención se refiere al uso de caseinato de sodio como agente oncológico; el cual, in vitro bloquea la proliferación, actividad metabólica e induce apoptosis en células leucémicas pero no en la hematopoyesis normal. Asimismo, la invención se refiere al uso de caseinato de sodio in vivo, donde prolonga la sobrevivencia de individuos leucémicos, reduce las manifestaciones de la enfermedad, no es toxico para el tejido hematopoyético pero favorece la generación de células sanguíneas sanas.
