Such polymers exhibit certain molecular weight distributions suitable to form the covering layers for the cable. The polymer can be crosslinked to exhibit suitable properties including retained elongation at break values and hot set values. Se describen polímeros de polietileno de baja densidad lineales utilizados para formar capas de cubierta para cables. Tales polímeros exhiben ciertas distribuciones de peso molecular adecuadas para formar el revestimiento de capas para el cable. El polímero puede reticularse para exhibir propiedades adecuadas que incluyen alargamiento retenido en valores de ruptura y valores de fraguado en caliente.
