The present invention relates to diphenyloxyalkylamine derivatives and aryloxyalkylamine derivatives that are structurally analogous to mexiletine, said derivatives having important biological activity and not causing the undesired side effects observed with the prototype, as well as with other drugs from the same therapeutic class as the prototype. The derivatives of the present invention have formulas II and III and are used for treating, preventing or inhibiting pulmonary inflammatory diseases, for example, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). La presente invención se refiere a derivados de difeniloxialquilamina y derivados de ariloxialquilamina que son estructuralmente análogos a mexiletina, dichos derivados con actividad biológica importante y sin causar efectos secundarios no deseados observados con el prototipo, así como con otros fármacos de la misma clase terapéutica que el prototipo; los derivados de la presente invención tienen fórmulas II y III y se utilizan para tratar, prevenir o inhibir enfermedades inflamatorias pulmonares, por ejemplo, asma y enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica (COPD).
