Zusammenfassung:	The present invention refers to the treatment and prevention of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is physiologically or etymologically associated to the obesity of patients diagnosed with BPH, by using tomatoe (Lycopersicum esculentum) extracts containing lycopene, which is found in a natural manner. The aforementioned treatment may revert BPH, reducing the symptoms and the risks of prostatic cancer. La presente invención refiere al tratamiento y prevención de la hiperplasia prostática benigna (HPB) que está fisiológicamente o etiológicamente asociada a la obesidad del paciente diagnosticado con HPB, mediante el uso de extractos de tomate (Lycopersicum esculentum) que contienen licopeno, el cual se encuentra de manera natural. El tratamiento descrito puede revertir la HPB, disminuir los síntomas y disminuir el riesgo de cáncer de próstata.
