Zusammenfassung: | The present invention is related to the application of molecules with basic structure of the furanone type in the inhibition of microbiological corrosion or Microbiology induced corrosion (MIC), present in almost all industries: above all in the inner portion of storing tanks and ducts for transporting hydrocarbons, water and brines in the oil industry. The MIC inhibition, performed by means of the present invention, is carried out with low toxicity products that inhibit the cellular communication between bacterial microorganisms, best known as quorum perception or Quorum Sensing self-induction (QS). The application of the 2(5H)-Furanone molecule acting as an inhibitor of the phenomenon causing the formation of biofilms in the inner portion of ducts intended to transport hydrocarbons, water and bines in the oil industry, provides a unique advantage for solving the microbiological corrosion problems including the application of a low-toxicity product, this in virtue of having an action principle based on the interruption of the Quorum Sensing (QS) between bacteria and not in their mortality. The effects of the presence of the 2(5H)-Furanone molecule are observed by conventional techniques of electrochemistry, such as the Polarization Resistance (Rp) and the Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS); and techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy and Microbiology.
