La presente invención se refiere a la obtención y uso de un extracto metanólico, de un extracto de diclorometano e integro (acuoso) de la planta Agave marmorata, planta popularmente conocida como "ptixometl", el cual actúa como inmunomodulador y por lo tanto permite el tratamiento de enfermedades crónico degenerativas con base inflamatoria.
