La presente invención comprende una composición farmacéutica que contiene un antagonista selectivo de los receptores adrenérgicos alfa-1A/1D y un inhibidor de la 5 alfa reductasa, así como un procedimiento para su preparación y el uso de dicha combinación para la elaboración de una formulación farmacéutica útil en el tratamiento de hiperplasia prostática benigna y retención urinaria.
