The present invention also provides the use of the selective oxidation process in the manufacture of moxidectin. La presente invención proporciona un proceso seguro y efectivo para la oxidación selectiva de un compuesto 5-O-protegido-LLF-2824 9-a para el compuesto 23-ceto correspondiente de la fórmula I (ver fórmula (I)) en donde R es un grupo protector. La presente invención también proporciona el uso de la oxidación selectiva proceso en la fabricación de moxidectina.
