ABSORBENT TAMPON FOR FEMININE HYGIENE

The present invention provides an absorbent tampon having a mass of an absorbentcomposite compressed into a generally cylindrical shape. The absorbent compositeused in the tampon of the present invention has at least a first layer and a secondlayer wherein the second layer is adjacent the first layer. The first layer isprepared from a first absorbent material having a first physical property andthe second layer is prepared from a second absorbent material having a secondphysical property, wherein the first physical property is the same physicalproperty as the second physical property, but the value of the second physicalproperty is different from the first physical property. By providing layersin the absorbent composite different physical properties, the tampons of thepresent invention can have different properties at various locations of thetampon to provide a tampon having desirable features, such as improve leakageprotection. La presente invención proporciona un tapón absorbente que tiene una masa de un compuesto absorbente comprimido en una forma generalmente cilíndrica. El compuesto absorbente usado en el tapón de la presente invención tiene por lo menos una primera capa y una segunda capa en donde la segunda capa está adyacente a la primera capa. La primera capa es preparada de un primer material absorbente teniendo una primera propiedad física y la segunda capa es preparada de un segundo material absorbente teniendo una segunda propiedad física, en donde la primera propiedad física es la misma propiedad física que la segunda propiedad física, pero el valor de la segunda propiedad física es diferente del de la primera propiedad física. Mediante el proporcionar capas en el compuesto absorbente de diferentes propiedades físicas, los tapones de la presente invención pueden tener diferentes propiedades en diferentes ubicaciones del tapón para proporcionar un tapón teniendo características deseadas tal como una protección al filtrado mejorada.
