Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to isolated polypeptides and isolated nucleic acid sequences encoding the polypeptides, as well as methods for producing and using the polypeptides in animal feed. An example of a polypeptide of the invention is the so-called L12 protein from Bacillus licheniformis ATCC 14580 which improves the Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and/or acts as a gut microflora modulator. The invention furthermore relates to the probiotic use of strains of Bacillus which produce proteins related to L12. La presente invencion se refiere a polipeptidos aislados y secuencias de acido nucleico aisladas que codifican los polipeptidos, asi como tambien a metodos para producir y utilizar los polipeptidos en el alimento para animales. Un ejemplo de un polipeptido de la invencion es la proteina denominada L12 de Bacillus licheniformis ATCC 14580, la cual mejora la Relacion de Conversion de Alimento (FCR) y/o actua como un modulador de la microflora del intestino. La invencion se refiere ademas al uso probiotico de cepas de Bacillus las cuales producen proteinas relacionadas con L12.
