Method of treating the III-rd class mesial occlusion according to Engle

The invention refers to medicine, namely to orthodontics and is meant for treating the III-rd class mesial occlusion according to Engle.The method, according to the invention, is carried out in three stages. In the first stage it is carried out leveling of mandibula and maxilla dental arches with the help of removable orthodontic appliances and of a bracket system for retention of maxilla and lengthening of mandibula. In the second stage of treatment, after attainment of 16 years old to girls and of 18 years old to boys, it is surgically lengthened the mandibula up to the obtaining of the occlusive contact in the orthognathic occlusion, namely it is made an incision of mandibula at lateral teeth level with passage in the retromolar region. It is detached the periosteum in the mandibula angle region and in the region of its branch on the inside. At the second molar level it is removed the cortical lamella sector equal to the distance necessary for attaining an adequate jaw relation. It is sectioned the bone lamella with passage in the retromolar region, it is separated with an osteotome the sectioned bone sector, which is pushed forward up to the attainment of the correct occlusive contact and it is fixed with sutures. Then it is carried out the third stage including the intermaxillary fixation in the corrected occlusive contact during 6 weeks after operation, removal of intermaxillary fixation, carrying out of myogymnastics during one week and carrying out of maximum correction of teeth interrelation with the help of the bracket system. Invenţia se referă la medicină, şi anume la ortodonţie şi este destinată pentru tratamentul ocluziei meziale clasa a III-a după Angle.Metoda, conform invenţiei, se efectuează în trei etape. La prima etapă se efectuează îndreptarea arcadelor dentare ale maxilarelor inferior şi superior cu ajutorul unor aparate ortodontice mobilizabile şi al unui sistem braket pentru alungirea maxilarului superior şi menţinerea mandibulei.La etapa a doua a tratamentului, după atingerea vârstei de 16 ani la fetiţe şi de 18 ani la băieţi, pe cale chirurgicală se scurtează mandibula până la obţinerea contactului ocluzal al ocluziei ortognatice, şi anume se efectuează o incizie a mandibulei la nivelul dinţilor laterali cu trecere în regiunea retromolară.
