The adjustment device (1) and the method are characterized in particular in terms of a constriction of the flow area to a predefined flow area that is smaller than the flow area which is set on the basis of a control deviation (ΔΤRegeldifferenz) when the sensed supply temperature (TVorlauf) on the inlet side of the consumer loop (3) lies within a predefined range of values (WU, WM, WO).
