Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a method for determining the biomass of tuna in a region of water and a corresponding system, wherein measurement means (2) with an acoustic sensor and image capture means are arranged submerged under said region of water (1) in known positions and aimed in an upward direction. Said method comprises the following steps: said acoustic sensor takes acoustic measurements, generating an echogram; said image capture means capture a sequence of images; the number of tuna that have passed through said region of water (1) is determined using said echogram; the size and weight of the tuna are determined using said sequence of images; and a biomass value of tuna is determined from the number of tuna and from the weight of the tuna.
