Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to compressors for hydraulically compressing hydrogen and serves to improve the efficiency and reliability of a device comprising a controller 1, working cylinders 2, 3, pipes 4, 5, and a unit 9 for supplying low-pressure gaseous hydrogen via a conduit 8 and valves 6, 7. Pipes 10, 11 are connected to a first-stage fluid pump 13 via valves 14, 15. The device is equipped with a buffer tank 26, tanks 27, 48 for storing a working fluid 24, and flow rate sensors 28, 29, 30, 49, 50. A tank 37 is connected via a valve 39 to the outlet of a fluid pump 41. The inlets of valves 44, 45 and an inlet 47 of the second-stage fluid pump 41 are connected to tank 48 via flow sensors 49, 50.
