Zusammenfassung:2-oxo-4phenylbutanoic acid ethyl ester is used in the synthesis of antihypersensitive preparations enalapril and its analogues. Application contains a description of a new method for the production of this compound, according to which no organic solvents are used and the end product is isolated by extracting raw product in hexane, the purity of the extracted product is compatible with that of the syntone obtained by distilling the raw product in a deep vacuum.
