Zusammenfassung:	The apparatus has a collecting tray (2) with a predetermined minimum level height for collecting the washing water. The lateral connections (7,8) are formed on the sides of the housing (1) for recirculating air and for fresh air respectively. The bends (9,10) ending above the collecting tray are provided with an outflow direction that is directed downwardly against the level of the washing water. An air washer fitted inside the housing is provided with a high-pressure nozzle (12) for spraying the washing water in a washing chamber (11). An independent claim is included for a method for air conditioning of a room with a painting plant for the water-based paints.
