The mixer is intended for conditions in which the solution or slurry to be processed is difficult to treat and into which gas is conducted with the intention of dispersing it evenly and effectively into the solution. The method is especially suited to a hydrometallurgical process, whereby the purpose is to disperse the gas into the solution and obtain effective mixing both on the micro- and macro-level.
