The automatic zoom camera comprises a switching unit(10) for sensing an automatic zoom mode, a strobe mode, a film sensitivity, a zoom position, etc.; a distance detector(20) for detecting a distance of an object by using an infrared light emitting element and a receiving element; a luminance detector(30) for detecting an information on the brightness by a photo-conductive cell; a microprocessor(40) for minimizing the change of a brightness and a color according to the distance of the object, the film sensitivity, a surrounding brightness index and a strobe brightness index; a driving unit for supplementing a light quantity according to the output signal from the microprocessor; and a motor and a shutter driving units(50,60).
