Zusammenfassung:	The invention concerns a speed sensor for transmission output comprising a Hall-effect detector (11) or a variable reluctance detector and a means (10) of producing a magnetic field. According to the invention, the means (10) is built into an axial thrust bearing positioned around a differential casing (5) of a motor vehicle transmission. In this way a structural modification of the transmission itself is avoided.
